Dr. Amy Loyd is board-certified Dermatologist practicing cosmetic, surgical and general dermatology.
Dr. Loyd received her bachelor’s degree from The University of Michigan where she was elected into the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi honor society. She then received her medical degree from Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. While in medical school, she was a recipient of the coveted Army Health Professions Scholarship Award. While serving as an Army Active Duty Officer from 2007-2014 she completed her internship at Brooke Army Medical Center and dermatology residency at the University of South Florida, where she served as chief resident during her senior year. After completing her residency training she served as the Chief of Dermatology at Reynolds Army Community Hospital in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. During her time serving as Chief of Dermatology she was promoted to the rank of Major and received the Army Commendation Medal.
Throughout her residency training and career in Dermatology she has been passionate about teaching others. She served as a Preceptor for the Physician Assistant and Family Medicine Residency Programs while in Oklahoma. She also participated in training dermatology residents as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, where she continues to participate now as an adjunct faculty. She is also involved with teaching medical students and residents from various specialties including dermatology as a staff Dermatologist at the Malcom Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Loyd is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. She has co-authored several journal articles and edited 2 book chapters. Dr. Loyd has been nominated as one of America’s Top Dermatologists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.
